Clothed in Raiments Three begins with three seemingly unrelated gestures—something dark and brooding, something bright and a little naive, something rich and powerful—three of my favorite moods that the wind band is capable of inhabiting. The rest of the short piece is dedicated to exploring these ideas, the way they contrast, and ultimately demonstrating the three sound worlds actually belong together.
